Badagry

Badagry is a coastal town and local government area in Lagos, Nigeria. It is between the city of Lagos and the border with Benin at Seme.

It is also known as Gberefu Island, also known as Point of No Return. Badagry is a populated historical island located in Badagry, a town and local government area of Lagos State, South-Western Nigeria.

Over the course of three centuries, more than 500,000 africans were sold into slavery through Badagry’s coast.

Badagry is the home to the first story building in Nigeria.
